Little reads for grown-ups

Short, practical notes from our classroom to your living room.

01

Why good sleep is a superpower for growing minds

Good sleep is essential for all of us, and for children it deserves particular care. Sleep helps them stay active and ready to take on the day.

During the formative years, children’s bodies and brains undergo significant development. Quality sleep supports physical growth, boosts the immune system and enhances cognitive functions like memory and attention.

Children need roughly 10 to 14 hours of sleep depending on their age. A calm, consistent bedtime routine, dim lights, a story, the same time every night, makes those hours easier to reach.

Books at their height: raising readers the easy way

Reading opens a magical world for children, a world where imaginations soar and minds grow. One of the most beautiful sights is watching a child pick out a book and get lost in its pages.

The joy of reading can be nurtured from a young age, and one simple yet powerful way is making books easily accessible at your child’s height.

Imagine a cozy corner at home: a small shelf, covers facing out, a cushion on the floor. When books are within reach, choosing to read becomes the child’s own decision, and that ownership is where the love of reading begins.

03

What does freedom mean to a child?

Freedom means so much to all of us, but have you paused to think what it means to a child? Is there any joy and growth without it?

Is there any greater joy than being free from being time-bound, doing things at their own pace? Independence and curiosity develop when we allow children to be little, to explore their world through play and choices.

At The Mommy Way, freedom looks like choosing your own book, pouring your own water, and finishing your puzzle in your own time. Small choices, big confidence.
